Frequently Asked Questions

How long does treatment last?

Treatment duration varies based on individual needs and the program level. Medical detox typically lasts 3 to 7 days. Residential treatment programs run 30 to 90 days, with most patients staying approximately 45 to 60 days. Our outpatient programs (PHP, IOP, and standard outpatient) range from 2 to 12 weeks. During your initial clinical assessment, our team will recommend a treatment timeline tailored to your specific situation, and adjustments can be made as you progress through recovery.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, CMB Addiction Treatment works with most major insurance providers including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Magellan, Tricare, Medicare, and Medi-Cal. Our admissions team will verify your benefits and explain your coverage before treatment begins, so there are no surprises. If your provider is not listed, please contact us at (341) 221-3025 -- we may still be able to work with your plan or discuss alternative payment arrangements.

Is detox medically supervised?

Absolutely. Our detox program is supervised 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by our medical team, which includes physicians and registered nurses experienced in addiction medicine. We use medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when clinically appropriate to manage withdrawal symptoms safely and minimize discomfort. Vital signs and symptoms are monitored continuously, and our staff is trained to respond to any medical concerns that may arise during the detoxification process.

Can family members visit during treatment?

Yes, we strongly encourage family involvement in the recovery process. Our facility has designated visiting hours, and we also offer family therapy sessions as part of our treatment programming. Family members can participate in educational workshops that help them understand addiction, develop healthy communication skills, and build a supportive home environment for their loved one's return. Specific visiting schedules are provided at the time of admission.

What happens after I complete treatment?

Before discharge, our clinical team works with you to develop a comprehensive aftercare plan. This may include step-down to our outpatient program, referrals to local support groups and sober living homes in the Hayward and East Bay area, ongoing individual therapy, alumni group participation, and relapse prevention strategies. Our goal is to ensure you have a solid network of support as you transition back to everyday life. CMB alumni have access to our recovery support resources long after completing their program.

Do you treat co-occurring mental health disorders?

Yes. Our dual diagnosis program is specifically designed to treat addiction alongside co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. Research consistently shows that treating both conditions simultaneously leads to better long-term outcomes. Our clinical team includes licensed therapists and a psychiatrist who collaborate to create integrated treatment plans that address the full scope of each patient's needs.
